A few months ago I started suffering sciatica nerve pain and lower back pain, a really good friend of mine suggested that I tried floatation therapy.
I did my first float at Koa Recovery, from the moment I arrived I found space great on a few levels, it’s an open plan and relaxing. The floatation room is like a day spa, stylish and new. I met the Shaun who instantly made me feel welcome and he talked me through the equipment, the procedure, safely and the sensation of floating.
The float was amazing, an hour drifted past so quickly I couldn’t believe it was over! Initially it took me a few minutes to let go. Once I had the feeling of nothingness was so nice on my aching back and legs! The complete silence was an unexpected bonus, as a mum of 3 kids silence is a luxury in itself.
For the remainder of the day I felt really relaxed and had a little spring I my step which was nice. I am a strong believer in looking after yourself, I believe that a happy relaxed me is a better me. Not only my body felt relaxed, but my skin felt great and smooth, that was a completely unexpected surprise.
Over the last 10 years I have really tried the keep my body physically fit and maintain a good nutritional diet. I have completed a few small triathlons, a few fun runs and a couple of half marathons. None of these at a blazing pace more like the pace of a Clydesdale horse. I’m really looking forward to getting into a bit of training and using some of the recovery treatments that Shaun explained to me.
The holistic approach that Shaun has at Koa Recovery really resonates with me as I find that I’m a better Mum, Wife, friend and employee when I have taken some time out to look after myself.
